Airtel GPRS Settings

Airtel is one of the top mobile phone service providers in India and also is the service provider with huge user base. Airtel GPRS settings allows you to access Internet from your mobile phone (if enabled for Internet) using Airtel’s services. Please note that this is not a free service and would be charged by the operator.
In order to manually configure Airtel GRPS settings, enter the details below in the Internet settings in your mobile phone.
- Access Point Name: airtelgprs.com
- Authentication Type – Normal
- Server Address: 202.056.231.117
- Server Port: 8080
- Use Proxy: YES
- Proxy Address: 202.056.231.117
- Proxy Port: 8080
- Homepage: www.themobileblog.in (you can set your own home page)
- Primary Name Server: *Blank*
- Secondary Name Server: *Blank*
- Username: *Blank*
- Password: *Blank*
Once you have configured and activated GPRS, you can start browsing your favorite sites using the browser in your phone.

I have an HTC HeRO with me and i have called Airtel get my settins to use internet on my phone…
Here are the settings…
go to –>settings–>wireless control–>mobile network settings–>Access Point Name.
Press menue then selecet :new apn
Now in settings:
name: mobileoffice
apn:airtelgprs.com
Address: 202.56.231.117
Port: 8080
Username: *Blank*
Password: *Blank*
Server : 202.056.231.117
mmsc *Blank*
mms proxy: *Blank*
mms port: *Blank*
mcc : 404
mnc: as as its showing on ur phone
apn type : default
i’ve Palm Treo 850 (win 6.1) using Airtel as my service provider ..have contacted the customre care several times for gprs settings…which proved wortheless…….nonetheless,while searching on net, I found airtel_live settings and airtel_gprs settings….
while using airtel_live settings, I could access couple of basic sites like google but I cannot connect to internet using airtel_gprs settings…..
please advise…thnak you
