Windows Mobile 6.5 on Video

Windows Mobile 6.5 is the upcoming version of Windows Mobile. This eight min video shows the work of Windows Mobile 6.5.  on the communicator HTC Touch Diamond 2. According to the Video published resource the new operating system in this video shown is in its fully completed final version. It is also heard that the Windows Mobile 6.5 will have final name as ‘ Windows Phone’.

Microsoft Announces Windows Mobile 6.5

Microsoft has officially announced the latest Mobile OS, Windows Mobile 6.5 at the WMC 2009. The new OS should be pre-installed on phones coming out in Q4 2009 and has many new features and an improved interface. Windows Mobile 6.5 focuses on touch friendliness with new Honeycomb Design. A new version of Internet Explorer is included which adds zoom slider and frequently-used commands.

The new honeycomb design is the main attraction which can also be rearranged easily. Windows Mobile 6.5 brings lots of changes including the interface and handful of enhancements including an application store called Windows Marketplace for mobile and a backup and restore service called My Phone.

Windows Mobile 6.5 will not be available as a upgrade for existing customers using 6.1 version, this was confirmed by Microsoft.

Microsoft Announces MyPhone Service

Microsoft has officially announced the MyPhone, which is similar to the Apple’s MobileMe service. Currently, MyPhone is in beta mode and you can sign up for the wait list. MyPhone is a backup sync service that can be installed on any Windows Mobile phone. It can back up most information stored on your phone, such as contacts, Calendar, Tasks, SMS, Media (Pictures/videos/music) and Documents.

MyPhone will allow 200 MB storage space for free and any 6.0 or 6.1 Windows Mobile phone (either Professional or Standard version) will be able to take advantage of this service.

Hopefully the waiting list for this service is not too long and expect to get a full invite soon.
